Dentistry on Another Level

At Advanced Dental Associates of South Tampa, Dr. Patrino and our team want to take dentistry to another level. Previous methods and techniques may continue to deliver quality results; however, as times change and the field continues to evolve, we believe that what we offer our patients should expand as well.

What you will find when entering our office are innovative technologies that allow us to deliver updated techniques, materials, and solutions. Superior accuracy, precision, and even diagnostics are possible thanks to our digital X-rays, soft tissue laser, digital impression system, intraoral camera, and CT scanner.

We know you are likely to have many questions about these machines and devices, so please don’t hesitate to contact our office.

Intraoral Camera

We don’t want you to try to visualize what we see and describe when looking inside your mouth. Instead, we want you to see it for yourself, which is why we use an intraoral camera – a handheld device that scans your teeth, gums, and nearby oral structures and projects the images onto a monitor. This allows Dr. Patrino to not only identify small areas of decay but also explain in real-time what he sees, and the reason certain treatments are recommended.

Digital Impression System

Impressions are necessary when custom restorations are required, such as dental crowns, veneers, orthodontics, or dentures. Fortunately, you no longer have to bite down into cold dental putty to create the model that is used to build these creations. Instead, our team uses a digital impression system – a more comfortable approach that requires scanning the interior of your mouth to generate a three-dimensional image. Faster and more accurate than traditional techniques, this innovative system provides lab technicians with high-resolution images to craft precise and effective restorations.

CT Scanner

Certain treatments require more detailed treatment planning, which is why we use our CT scanner. Delivering more intricate, high-resolution images than a general dental X-ray, the machine creates a 3D model of oral and facial structures, including your teeth, gums, bones, blood vessels, nerves, etc. Not only can we be more accurate when planning for dental implant placement or root canals, but we can also be more confident when delivering diagnoses.

Soft Tissue Laser

Our soft tissue laser replaces the need for scalpels and sutures – instruments commonly used to perform various treatments on a patient’s gums or other soft oral tissues. Using concentrated light energy to reshape gumlines or target pockets of bacteria, our device minimizes post-procedural recovery times while also preventing excessive bleeding and swelling. Instead, the laser creates a more comfortable and faster patient experience.

Digital X-Rays

There is no need to spend additional time waiting for X-rays to develop when they can be made readily available in seconds thanks to our updated digital system. Both you and Dr. Patrino can view the scans on a nearby monitor, which details the area above and below your gumline. Here, he can pinpoint problem areas unseen by the naked eye and explain any issues that may exist and require treatment.
