The Benefits of Dental Implant Dentures

Dental implant dentures are becoming increasingly popular among those suffering from complete tooth loss. Apart from their ability to deliver results that can last a lifetime, they also provide many additional benefits, such as:
- An increased bite force that allows you to eat all types of dense, nutrient-rich foods
- Greater stability knowing that your teeth are firmly in place and will not slip when eating or speaking
- Speech clarity, as you will no longer slur your words or speak with a lisp
- A cost-effective solution for tooth replacement, as dental implant dentures do not require adhesives or frequent replacement
The Process of Getting Dental Implant Dentures

Dr. Patrino will meet with you to discuss your eligibility for dental implant dentures. If preliminary treatments are necessary, such as gum disease treatment, bone grafting, or additional tooth extraction, these will be addressed first.
When ready and cleared for surgery, you will receive local anesthesia before your implant dentist in South Tampa makes small incisions in your gumline to place and position 4-6 dental implant posts. After closing the gum tissue and covering each surgical site with a protective healing cap, you will return home to begin the recovery process.
Your implants will need 4-6 months to fuse with the jawbone (osseointegration) before metal abutments can be placed on top. These small connectors help hold your new denture in place once it is ready for placement.
Once Dr. Patrino believes you are fully healed and ready to receive your new teeth, he will have you come in for an appointment to receive your denture. After securing it on top of your implants, he will make sure it looks natural and feels comfortable.
